The Namesake
Boo-Nana
Went brown on a Tuesday. Refused the bin on Wednesday. Has been haunting the fruit bowl ever since.
Meet Boo-Nana — a ghost banana who went brown on the counter, refused the compost bin, and now haunts the snack drawer rattling chains made of fruit stickers.
No roadmap. No promises. Just vibes and potassium.
Every ghost has a backstory. Every backstory has a smell. Boo-Nana runs the only afterlife crew that still answers to a fruit bowl.
The Namesake
Went brown on a Tuesday. Refused the bin on Wednesday. Has been haunting the fruit bowl ever since.
Head of Rot
Runs the complaint line. Nobody has ever gotten through. He considers this a success.
Spectral Admin
Unpaid. Undead. Still updating the spreadsheet nobody asked for at 3am.
Compost Liaison
Took the deal with the compost bin. We do not talk about Peel-y Pete.
Chief Bark Officer
Joined the haunt by accident. Stayed for the snacks. Barks at his own reflection.
Communications
Says one word a year. It is always 'boo.' Delivery is admittedly excellent.
It started in a fruit bowl on a counter nobody cleaned. Day one, a banana. Day six, a banana with opinions. Day nine, a banana that had gone completely brown and started referring to itself in the third person.
The family tried everything. Banana bread. Smoothies. A brief and unsuccessful attempt to pass it off as a decorative gourd. Nothing worked. The banana simply would not be eaten, and it would not be thrown away, and it refused — loudly — to be composted.
So it stayed. And then it got a sheet. And then it learned to float, which nobody has been able to explain, least of all the banana.
Boo-Nana does not want your money. Boo-Nana wants the snack drawer. Boo-Nana will be taking the snack drawer.
Boo-Nana has been workshopping these in the afterlife for nine days straight. Critics have described them as “a genuine haunting.”
It couldn’t peel with the pressure anymore.
Boo-berries. Obviously.
It already knew it was a little ripe.
You don’t. It just shows up and sits in the bowl.
“You’ve got great appeal.”
To get to the other side. It’s been stuck there since Tuesday.
